Kanchan Verma, Nre Miss India Australia 2008, was involved in various charity work while in Durban in early 2009. Kanchan helped and raise money for a charity function in Sydney. (Updated on 25 July, 2009)

In February 2009, Nre Miss India Australia 2008, Kanchan, was giving away meals to the underprivileged in Durban (see photos below). Kanchan was also involved in meeting with the sick and injured at the DAYMED Medical Centre & Private Hospital in the outskirts of Durban city. (see photos below)

Kanchan Verma, Nre Miss India Australia 2008, hosted the "EXTRAORDINARY TALENTS" night in Sydney on 24 July, 2009 . The event helped to raise nearly $10,000 for a UK based charity "Heal" -  It was a one off charity function to fundraise for underprivileged children within villages in India, through the charity.

‘Extraordinary Talents' portrayed the artistic differences of individuals' ability to dance, sing or act. Selected finalists from all over Sydney performed live in front of a judging panel. The objective was to encourage young adults with their talent through equality and to support the underprivileged children of India by bridging the global gap.
